Kumi Education Stakeholders Trained on Ethics and Integrity to Strengthen Moral Standards in Schools
The Directorate for Ethics and Integrity under the Office of the President has conducted a strategic engagement with head teachers, deputy head teachers, senior women and senior men teachers, as well as school matrons in Kumi District and Kumi Municipality.
The training focused on mainstreaming ethical values within the education system as a deliberate measure to curb immoral conduct, corruption, and the erosion of moral standards in schools.
According to the Chief Administrative Officer of Kumi District, John Stephen Kasadha, the engagement was a timely intervention that reaffirms government expectations of teachers as overseers of public morality.
He commended the Directorate for Ethics and Integrity for providing education stakeholders with practical frameworks for character formation and professional discipline.
The Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Kumi District, James Kyomya, underscored that teachers embody multiple professional identities and are expected to model exemplary leadership at all times.
The Municipal Education Officer of Kumi Municipality, Stella Atai, welcomed the engagement and expressed gratitude to the facilitators for their sustained support to schools.
